You may noticed that we didn't update to 1.16. This is for a very good reason: Rise of Nations is an unfixable mess in terms of code. It has many fundamental technical problems and was in a vital need of mass fixing. After we started to focus on content this got way worse. It took an absurdly large amount of time before but as of now Rise of Nations can't be updated.

Rise of Nations Redux will fix those fundamental technical issues, lag and bugs will be fixed. With this much of the content will be modernized to use "new" mechanics like balance of powers or special projects.

You may now ask what that means for Rise of Nations. We're essentially making Rise of Nations from ground up. It will take some time to complete all of Rise of Nations but it will lead to easier and quicker updates in the future and also more content with far less lag.

This is the last dev diary of this year, a pretty good year for Rise of Nations with the last month or so we made quite a big progress on Rise of Nations content wise.

Althought this came at an expense: performance... and also bugginess...

We have been working on level design and QoL features

The next year will be quite crazy in terms of content... What you have seen is about 10% of the next update...

Germany Revamp WW2

German WW2 focus tree had a very poor design/no design at all... It was just a bunch of mods and trees mixed together and called a day but not anymore!

Bloat Cleanup

In order to decrease our high mod size of 6GB over 1,300 files were deleted representing 200MB. Don't worry it will not affect you negatively at all...

And with this we readded this beauty

This is more of a long term plan but half of the Nationalist Chinese content mas been merged to one unified tree rather than two focus trees bellow each other.

In the last week we moved the mod forward quite a lot. We finished a lot of stuff while starting new mini project.

American DNC Focus Tree

Thanks to Mike's work we have a fully fleshed out American focus tree for the DNC era.

New Starting Screen

Thanks to me, Xaelor we have reduced the popup spam from the beggining, making everything more clear, accessible and less laggy.

The Great War RolePlay Integration

At this moment most of the team is focused on integrating this mod to make WW1 more fleshed out while making it compatible with the current Rise of Nations mechanics.

1.6.1 Mini Update

We have decided to release a mini update 1.6.1 in order to fix major issues with the release of Götterdämmerung DLC and Rise of Nations - Final Strike. Because the next update will not be released in the near future the new starting screen is also included to give you this great QoL change.
